“We have solutions” – Jurgen Klopp reacts to Fabinho’s long-term ankle injury
Jurgen Klopp has opted to take a positive approach to Fabinho‘s long-term ankle problem, with the manager focusing on the possible solutions. Fabinho has been ruled out for up to eight weeks with an ankle ligament injury suffered against Napoli on Wednesday night, with the Brazilian missing the whole of December. The Reds face a busy month with 10 games across four competitions, and will be without one of their most important players throughout, which is a major blow after Fabinho‘s early form. Only Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino have played more minutes than the No. 3 this campaign, but Klopp is now left to plan without him. Speaking in his pre-Brighton press conference at Melwood on Friday, the manager stressed that work is already underway to find his replacement in the squad.

Hence, it gives an exciting angle to the game and Lampard would make sure that he makes his side bag three points against the city rivals. Since the start of the season, Chelsea has been marred with the injuries. Now, their star striker Tammy Abraham has been ruled out from the fixture against the Hammers after he picked an injury while playing against Valencia in the last Champions League encounter. Watch Jurgen Klopp’s pre-match press conference – Liverpool vs. Brighton
Jurgen Klopp is confident Liverpool can cope without the presence of influential midfielder Fabinho after injury ruled out the Brazil international until the new year. The PA news agency understands the 26-year-old, who has started 18 of 19 matches this season, could be sidelined for between six to eight weeks with ankle ligament damage sustained in Wednesday’s 1-1 Champions League draw with Napoli. A six-week absence would rule him out of 11 matches in the most congested period of the season, but Klopp believes the options they have means they can absorb his loss, despite his record of having never been on the losing side in all 32 Premier League matches he has started. “Losing a player with the quality of Fabinho is big, massive, really bad. But we are not the only team in the Premier League with injuries,” he said. “We have solutions for the position, we have to replace him, we can replace him, we have played without him, we have played good without him.”
